Teen Mom 2: The One Where No One Changes

Post One. What better way to start off than with Teen Mom 2? Guess I'll break it down by girl, as that seems like the easiest way:

Jenelle:

The episode starts off with Jenelle working on online classes and explaining how they're hard. Her mom blames Kieffer for her not doing so well in school. Well. Failing school, to be quite honest. Keep in mind, she's going to school for film editing, or whatever. But it's hard. That's the important part.  Now it's Jenelle's birthday! Happy birthday from Mom consists of...Fix-a-flat spray and jumper cables. Thanks Mom.  Jenelle is doing schoolwork online and notices she has a Facebook message from Kieffer. Facebook. No wonder she's failing. He wants to talk. So she goes. This is going to end well, I can see it. On the phone, he doesn't seem so angry. That kind of surprises me, seeing as how I've seen episodes before this one and feel as if I know him. But okay. He asks Jenelle to come pick him up to take him to jail. There's the Kieffer I know. Glad to see you again. Thought I had lost you for a second. She agrees. That surprises me as well. Don't ask why, because I got nothing. Not like she ever changes either. When she gets him, he immediately begins giving excuses about their fight and how she shouldn't have pressed charges. If this surprises Jenelle, she needs to work on her people skills, because I don't know what else she thought would happen. He gets steadily more agitated as they go to the jail, ending in him saying he loves her and her crying. I say, goodbye Kieffer! Good ridance. I shall not miss you.

Kailyn:

Next, we see Kailyn talking to her friend about Jordan, the boyfriend. She explains they waited for 3 months to have sex and they're being safe, but she always forgets her birth control, so she's changing to something else. When her segment returns, Kailyn is getting along with Joe. Which is always helpful. She goes to the doctor to check out birth control options, where the doctor gives Isaac the ring that would potentially go in Kailyn's vagina. Ew. Just saying. She chooses Mirena. Which she acts as if she had no idea what that is. Cause she's never seen the commercials or done any research. Realistic. Afterwards, she goes to tell Jordan about what happened and what she chose. However, he legitamately can't keep a straight face while talking about it, and looks incredibly embarrassed the entire time. My thoughts have always been, if you aren't ready to talk openly about protecting yourself during sex, you aren't ready to have sex. Kailyn realizes Jordan's response wasn't the best too, and discusses it with her friend. As the episode closes, Jordan realizes the error of his ways and talks more openly with Kailyn about her new IUD. Glad he grew a set and realized if he's doing it, probably should discuss it.

Chelsea:

She's on the phone with her dad, telling him how Adam left with Aubree after their fight, leaving her with a messed up leg that is connected to some hydration system. She apparently didn't realize the top would come off of it, because she proceeds to pull it toward her by the cord, across the bed, causing the top to pop off. Unfortunately, Chelsea probably won't win any awards for intelligence. When Chelsea returns, we check in and see Adam's still not returning the baby or any phone calls. Great. Moving along. She goes to physical therapy. Still no calls. When he finally returns with Aubree, he begins telling Chelsea how ridiculous she was that morning and he plans to leave again. When she expresses her frustration, he just leaves. I would say I told you so if she could hear me through the television. I understand she misses him when he's gone, but he's never going to change. He makes Kieffer's actions look like an enigma.

Leah:

Rounding out our Teen Mom 2 girls, we see Leah discussing how Corey can't go to the MRI results appointment with her cause he has to work. Her sister also can't go because of school, and her mom can't cause of work, but Corey obviously has ulterior motives for not going. After all, he couldn't have to go to work, just like her mom.  Leah's grandmother goes with her to the doctor, and he has good news - Ali's optic nerve is small, but other than that, everything's okay. Leah complains to her grandmother about Corey not being there, and she explains that Corey has to provide for the family so he can pay the medical bills of the doctor's visit she's going to. Okay, she didn't say that. But I would have. There's no way they have good insurance. I deny the possibility. But Leah's grandmother is ready to go. Just like I am. When the episode wraps up, we see the cute little family, seemingly happy in their everyday life. Spectacular. I'm a fan of happy families.

This episode proves to me that no one changes (GASP! Maybe...is that where I got the title?). Jenelle picked up Kieffer. Kieffer got mad at Jenelle. Adam fought with Chelsea and stormed out. Chelsea cried. Leah complained about Corey working. Corey worked. Kailyn proved she was more mature than everyone. Jo...grew up! So for this episode, Jo gets the gold star for taking care of himself, not making anyone mad, and being an adult for himself, his child, and his baby mama!

[Editor's note: After looking for a picture of Jo to post, I found his music video. That's right. His music video. And it's so bad, I have to post it. That almost lost you the star, Jo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSpQNoIzp0w]
